The elite Irish Team Back Racing/Specials Ireland had been selectively assembled by Austin Donohue, Specials Team Manager & Roger Maher.

Roger who had previous experience in World Endurance raced alongside fellow Irish Road Racers Damien Mulleady, Hilton Hinks and in reserve John Walsh and a full back up support of 30 technicians, collectively know as the pit crew.

Two Yamaha R1 1000cc bikes were specially built to World Super Bike Specifications, one been used for practice and the other been used for the gruelling race itself.

 
Engines

ImageA well set up engine is key to performance in any machine, be it car or bike. At Specials, we undertake what is known as blueprinting an engine to unleash its originally designed capabilities.

Blueprinting an engine is machining the engine components back to the original blue print design. This original blue print design is what the engine manufacture laid out, before putting the engine into mass production. In short, the closer everything is on an engine, the faster it becomes.

Exhaust

ImageAny engines performance is dependent on it capacity to release exhaust fumes quickly. This is the golden rule of fitting an exhaust system.
Specials racing pull from a large range of high end exhaust systems and carry no one companies products exclusively.  We recommend the correct exhaust installation for each job individually, in order to give maximum power output for that particular model.

Suspension
ImageSuspension and braking are the 2 areas of a motor bike that get the least amount of attention for road users. Improvements made in these areas, on a pound for pound value of performance, will always create the fastest bike.


On a normal street / production bike, you will get higher cornering speeds and increased overall performance.
